Welcome to the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church Website! Rising Star is a one hundred eleven-year-old, historic congregation that seeks to serve its community and the world by Exalting our Savior, Edifying Saints, and Evangelizing Sinners by worshipping, witnessing, and working under the Holy Spirit’s direction. We aim to minister to the needs of the total human experience by offering Biblically based teaching ministries, focusing on mental and physical health issues, and the financial well-being of our congregants and community. Through its decades of existence, this church has been a strong family-based organization of believers in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This church, and my predecessor, the Rev. Dr. D. N. Benford, can be found in the Guinness Book of World Records. Dr. Benford pastored Rising Star for Seventy-Three and a Half years, making he and Rising Star the longest tenured relationship between one pastor with one church in the world. This kind of longevity is still on display. Here, fathers have raised their sons, mothers have raised their daughters, and grandparents have had strong influences on the faith of their grandchildren.
