At Rising Star Church Missionary Baptist Church, the 2nd Sunday of every month is a sacred and meaningful time of remembrance, reflection, and renewal. On this day, our church family gathers to partake in the Lord’s Supper, honoring the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the new covenant established through His blood.
The Lord’s Supper—also known as Communion—is more than a ritual; it is a commandment from Christ Himself: “Do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19). Each month, we pause from the busyness of life to reflect on the cross, remembering the body that was broken and the blood that was shed for the forgiveness of sins.
Communion is not only a personal reflection but also a collective act of unity. As we share the bread and the cup, we are reminded that we are one body in Christ. The 2nd Sunday becomes a special moment where generations come together—young and old, longtime members and new visitors—to worship in harmony and gratitude.
The Apostle Paul reminds us to examine ourselves before taking the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:28). This sacred practice gives us the opportunity to search our hearts, repent of sins, and renew our commitment to walk in the light of Christ. It is a monthly reminder of God’s grace and our call to live faithfully.
We invite you and your family to join us every 2nd Sunday at 10:45 am as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Whether you are a longtime member or visiting for the first time, you are welcome to share in this meaningful experience at Rising Star Church Missionary Baptist Church.
Come ready to remember.
Come ready to reflect.
